Netherlands beat Spain in a thrilling game.

Xabi Alonso scored with a penalty for Spain but van Persie scored for Netherlands after 44 minutes.

Then Netherlands took command and scored four more games.

Netherlands won five-nil. van Persie (2), Robben (2) and de Vrij scored for Netherlands.

Chile 3-1 Australia

Chile's forward Alexis Sanchez (not in picture) scores past Australia's goalkeeper Mathew Ryan (centre) during the FIFA Group B match in Cuiaba on Friday.


Chile started very well. They scored two goals in 14 minutes.

Sanchez and Valdivia scored for Chile.

Australia settled and scored after 35 minutes.

Australiatook command but Chile defended well.

Beausejour scored for Chile after 90 minutes.

Spain 0-2 Chile

Eduardo Vargas Chile

Spain's World Cup campaign ended with defeat by Chile.

Chile went ahead on 19 minutes after a good move. Vargas went round the goalkeeper to score.

Their second goal came when the Spanish goalkeeper Casillas tried to save a shot but gave the ball to Ananguiz who scored.

Spain have had a bad World Cup and only scored one goal so far.

Netherlands 3-2 Australia


Netherlands secured their place in the last 16 after a close game with Australia. Australia's campaign is over.

Robben angled a shot after 20 minutes but Cahill equalised one minute later with a stunning shot.

Australia took the lead with a penalty from Jedinak but Netherlands equalised through van Persie.

Depay scored the winner for Netherlands with a long-range shot.

Both teams were already out of the World Cup.

Span went ahead in the first half with a tap in from Villa.

In the second half goals from Torres and Mata gave Spain a comfortable win.

Netherlands finish top of their group with goals from Fer and Depay.

Both sides qualify for the last 16.

Chile could have had a penalty for handball but the referee didn't see it and they now face Brazil in the next round.
