Angela Merkel joins in the celebrations as Germany win the World Cup


Germany won their forth World Cup after they beat Argentina one-nil in Rio.

Both teams had chances to win but after 90 minutes there was no score. 

Then, in extra time, seven minutes from the end, Götze controlled the ball with his chest and scored with his left foot. 

Germany hung on to lift the trophy.

Messi was player of the tournament and Rodrïguez won the golden boot for top scorer.

The next world Cup is in Moscow.

Brazil 0-3 Netherlands 

World Cup: Brazil beaten again

Brazils World Cup campaign ended with defeat to Netherlands.

A penalty from Robin van Persie and goals from Daley Blind and Georginio Wijnaldum left the Brazilian supporters unhappy.

After the game, Brazil and their manager were booed by the crowd.

It is the first time Brazil have lost two games at home back-to-back since 1940.
